Back in 1993 my friend Jared Lindberg convinced me to take Ski School classes with him through the North Thurston School District.  Crystal Mountain was the destination on a 2-hour bus ride every Saturday morning in January and February during my freshman and sophomore years at Timberline High School.  I am forever indebted to Jared for introducing me to skiing, and even though I haven't skied at  Crystal in several years, she still feels like home...
